Helston
Helston is a historic market town on the western edge of the Lizard peninsula, best known for the Furry Dance each May, one of the oldest and best known folk customs still performed in England. It is a practical gateway to the Lizard’s beaches and coves, with Loe Pool, Cornwall’s largest natural lake, a short walk from the town centre.
My video here is a winter walk around Penrose and Loe Bar.
When you are ready to plan a visit, my other website, Best In Cornwall, has guides covering parking, beaches, walks, where to eat and where to stay. Here are the ones for Helston, covering parking and getting there, things to do, eating and staying.
