Redruth

Redruth is a historic mining town in west Cornwall, once at the heart of the world’s richest copper and tin mining district and now part of the Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape World Heritage Site. It has the hilltop monument at Carn Brea and easy access to the Great Flat Lode trail for walking and cycling, and it feels like a proper working town, away from the coastal resorts.

When you are ready to plan a visit, my other website, Best In Cornwall, has guides covering parking, beaches, walks, where to eat and where to stay. Here are the ones for Redruth, covering parking and getting there, things to do, eating, staying and history.
