Bodmin Moor
Bodmin Moor is Cornwall’s largest stretch of open moorland, a wild landscape of granite, tors and ancient stone circles. It is the setting that inspired Daphne du Maurier’s Jamaica Inn, and the legend of the Beast of Bodmin Moor still brings curious visitors.
I have filmed the moor in several moods, from a walk around Minions and the Cheesewring to wild foals and ponies, Temple Church, a steam train journey on the Bodmin and Wenford Railway, an autumn afternoon and where Poldark was filmed.
When you are ready to plan a visit, my other website, Best In Cornwall, has guides covering parking, beaches, walks, where to eat and where to stay. Here are the ones for Bodmin Moor, covering parking, things to do, eating, staying, history and the moor’s wildlife.
