ITV West Country recently included one of my bluefin tuna feeding frenzy clips in their local news coverage. The video shows bluefin tuna hunting at high speed off Land’s End, cutting through the surface and creating bursts of white water as they chase prey. It gave viewers a rare and exciting look at Cornwall’s increasingly active marine wildlife.
I filmed the footage during one of the most energetic feeding events I’ve seen along this part of the coast. Several tuna were breaching at pace, with birds and local fishing boats also drawn to the activity. It’s the kind of moment that really highlights how rich and dynamic our waters have become in recent years.
It’s always great to see this content featured by local broadcasters, helping to bring wider attention to the incredible wildlife that now regularly appears around Land’s End and the wider Cornish coastline.
