TowanBeach

Towan Beach is the most popular and central beach right in the heart of Newquay.

At one side of the beach, you have the harbour and on the other side of the beach, you have ‘the Island’ which is a rocky outcrop that is only accessible by a suspended footbridge.

The beach generally has much smaller waves than the surfer’s paradise ‘Fistral Beach’ so it is ideal for inexperienced surfers and swimmers.

At low tide you can access Tolcarne and Great Western beaches.

Lifeguard cover is provided at the weekend during the low season and provided full time during the high season.

There are numerous parking options available in the town centre that are about a ten-minute walk away from the beach.

You can enjoy numerous ocean-based activities such as surfing, swimming, snorkelling, bodyboarding, rock pooling, coasteering, kayaking and more. There’s plenty to do for kids and adults and there are plenty of places to eat and drink just a short walk away.

If you have a requirement for hiring a ‘Sandchair’ these are available from Blue Reef Aquarium. Telephone: 01637878134.

Towan Beach is a super destination to have some sunny, friendly family fun.
