A Relaxing Drive From Penzance To Lands End Via Newlyn & Mousehole, Cornwall, UK

Join me on one of my favourite scenic drives, travelling from Penzance to Land’s End via Newlyn and Mousehole on a crisp autumn evening. The route winds gently along the coast, passing through some of Cornwall’s most picturesque fishing villages and offering beautiful views out across Mount’s Bay.

Leaving Penzance, the road follows the seafront before reaching Newlyn, where the harbour is often busy with fishing boats returning for the day. From there, the road narrows as it climbs towards Mousehole, a village full of charm with its stone cottages and small tidal harbour. The light along this stretch can be particularly beautiful in the evening, especially as the sun drops behind the headland.

Beyond Mousehole, the road becomes quieter as it continues towards Land’s End, with glimpses of the sea appearing between the hedgerows. The landscape feels remote yet peaceful, and the journey captures much of what makes West Cornwall so special. It is a drive that combines coastal beauty, history, and the relaxed pace of life that defines this part of the county.
