A Walk Around Cadgwith, Cornwall, UK

Cadgwith is a quintessential Cornish fishing village that looks as though it’s been lifted straight from a postcard. Nestled in a steep valley, its perfectly aligned thatched cottages and narrow lanes create the picture-perfect charm of a traditional “chocolate box” village. The sight of colourful fishing boats being hauled up onto the pebbly beach adds to its timeless appeal.

The cove features two small beaches, each with its own character. The main fishing beach lies right in front of the village and is easily reached via a slipway from the road, while the second, a smaller swimming beach, sits just beyond a rocky outcrop known as The Todden.

A short walk north of the village leads to The Devil’s Frying Pan, a dramatic natural landmark where the roof of a sea cave collapsed, forming a huge crater-like hollow in the cliffs that plunges around 200 feet deep, a striking reminder of Cornwall’s wild coastal geology.

Here’s a video I shot around Cadgwith back in 2019.
