A Walk To Porthgwarra In Cornwall (A Famous Poldark Location)

On a bright but blustery autumn day in November 2020, I set out for a scenic walk to Porthgwarra, one of Cornwall’s iconic coastal spots and a well-known location from the hit TV series Poldark.

I parked near the Minack Theatre in Porthcurno and made my way down to Porthchapel Beach, before following the South West Coast Path towards Porthgwarra. After spending some time filming at this dramatic coastline, I returned along the same route, completing a roughly 3-mile round trip.

For Poldark fans, Porthgwarra holds a special place, it’s where Ross Poldark famously took his early morning swim while Demelza looked on, and it also served as the backdrop for the memorable pilchard fishing scene.

With its rugged cliffs, clear waters, and sweeping views, it’s easy to see why this spot was chosen for the show.
