What’s St Mawes In Cornwall Like at the end of summer?

We were treated to one of the best late-summer days in Cornwall.

St Mawes, usually bustling in the height of summer, felt calm and inviting. The pastel-painted houses lining narrow streets seemed to glow in the soft sunlight, and the small harbour, dotted with fishing boats and leisure craft, added a quiet sense of activity. Walking along the waterfront, the views across the bay were breathtaking, the sparkling water framed by rolling hills and the distant outline of Falmouth.

The village itself has a timeless charm. Cafés spill onto the streets, friendly locals and visitors alike share a smile, and the gentle lapping of the sea makes it easy to forget the world outside. It’s a place made for wandering slowly, soaking in the scenery, and feeling the rhythm of coastal life.

On the way back, we paused at the picturesque St Just in Roseland, rounding off a day that perfectly captured the beauty of Cornwall at the end of summer.

A day like this is a reminder of why Cornwall is so special, the scenery, the villages, the calm moments between the crowds, all coming together in a way only late summer can offer.
