I captured this video of wild moorland ponies and their foals in May 2023, near the entrance to Rough Tor on Bodmin Moor.

We were just returning to the car after climbing Rough Tor when I spotted a small herd of ponies with their foals, happily grazing and drinking from a stream just a short distance from the car park.

I always enjoy seeing the wild moorland ponies whenever I visit Bodmin Moor, but this was the first time I’d come across so many ponies and foals together in one place — usually, they’re scattered across the moor.
