On my way to film the Bluefin Tuna at Lands End, I took a detour to see Penzance and Newlyn in the early morning mist that had rolled in overnight. The towns were transformed, quiet streets, soft light, and a layer of mist that gave everything a slightly mysterious, ethereal quality.
I’ve never seen Penzance quite like this. The harbour in Newlyn, usually bustling, was calm, and the silhouettes of boats and buildings emerged slowly through the fog.
It was a calm, quiet start to the day, with that special Cornish atmosphere that only mornings like this can bring. A perfect reminder of the different moods of the coastline, sometimes peaceful, sometimes dramatic, but always memorable.
