I’m very fortunate to live just a short distance from some of Cornwall’s most stunning locations. One of my favourites is Mexico Towans, part of the three-mile stretch of beach running from the Hayle Estuary all the way to Godrevy Lighthouse.
The term “Towans” refers to the sand dunes that line the back of the beach, adding a unique character to this coastal landscape. In the summer months, you might even be lucky enough to spot an adder gliding quietly through the dunes, a subtle reminder of the wildlife that calls this area home.
A walk here offers a perfect combination of wide-open sandy beaches, rolling dunes, and the ever-present Cornish sea breeze, a quintessential slice of West Cornwall.
