I filmed this short video in October 2022 at Pendeen, Cornwall, capturing a large group of Toxic Cyanide Moths, more commonly known as Burnet Moths, along with several other butterfly and insect species.

Burnet Moths are fascinating creatures. They can produce hydrogen cyanide, a chemical compound that makes them taste unpleasant to predators and, in large amounts, can even be lethal. Don’t worry though, a human would have to eat an enormous number of them to feel any effects!
