Filmed on 24 March 2020, this video captures day one of the official UK lockdown due to coronavirus, a moment in time that none of us will ever forget.
I set out on my bike for some daily exercise, strapping my GoPro to my helmet to record what Cornwall looked like on that historic day. The route took me through Marazion, Penzance, and Newlyn before looping back home.
It was strange to see the usually busy streets so quiet, yet reassuring to notice that everyone I passed was sensibly keeping their distance. A surreal start to an unprecedented period, but one that showed the community spirit and resilience Cornwall is known for.
