Mullion Cove is an ideal spot to watch waves batter the harbour wall. The small cove sits on Cornwall’s Lizard Peninsula and is well known for its picturesque harbour and dramatic backdrop of cliffs. Even on a calmer day, the sea here always feels alive with energy and movement.
Filmed in January 2024, the tide was out, so the scene wasn’t as dramatic as it might be at high tide, but it still offered a striking view of Cornwall’s winter seas. The waves rolled steadily into the harbour entrance, pushing white foam up against the granite walls and spilling across the slipway with every surge.
The footage captures the power and movement of the water, making for a compelling glimpse of the rugged coastline in action. There’s a real sense of rhythm as each wave builds, breaks, and retreats, the kind of natural pattern that makes this stretch of coast so mesmerising to watch.
Even in less stormy conditions, Mullion Cove never loses its atmosphere. The weathered harbour, dark cliffs, and swirling sea all combine to show the timeless character of Cornwall’s coast in winter.
