Stormy Seas At Mullion Cove, Lizard Peninsula, Cornwall, UK

With strong winds and high tides sweeping across Cornwall, I decided to visit two of my favourite spots on the Lizard Peninsula – Dollar Cove and Mullion Cove, not far from Helston, to see if I could capture some of the action. I started at Dollar Cove, where the sea foam was in full force, creating a natural, frothy spectacle you can watch in my video here.

Heading on to Mullion Cove, I was treated to waves crashing dramatically against the harbour wall. It’s one of my favourite sights, and the turbulent seas make for some truly spectacular video. As you can see from the thumbnail, a few people were wandering along the harbour wall to get a closer look. Thankfully, the waves that hit them were not more solid, it could have ended very differently.

Safety is paramount, especially when the sea is this wild; a father and daughter tragically lost their lives here in April 2021 after being swept from the wall, so it’s a stark reminder of the power of Cornwall’s waters.

I feel incredibly lucky to call Cornwall home and try to spend every spare moment exploring both the coastline and inland areas of interest.
